Worshipping Together: Family Devotionals

Worshipping Together: Family Devotionals

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:4 (ESV)

Yes, the Bible addresses “Fathers” here. But guess what, we don’t get off the hook for this responsibility. Momma, we must bring up our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

My family has started family worship night. Actually, my son is really into any themed night. Taco night, park night, movie night, cookie night. So, my husband and I decided to meet my sweet four-year-old where he is and bring faith into our routine. Once a week we sing a worship song, read a short passage of the Bible, and pray together. It’s quick, less than ten minutes, because that’s all that his little brain can focus with his toddler sister around. Sometimes we miss it, and that’s OK. The point is that these family times aren’t unusual. As my children grow, I hope that these family worship nights will expand into meaningful, deep conversations that grow our faith as a family and center us on Christ in every aspect of our lives.

I’m always looking for great ideas and resources to help make that happen.

Devotionals To Grow Your Family’s Faith

As a busy momma, I am all about incorporating faith-based conversation in small chunks throughout the day. My children are still very young, so I don’t have a lot of time before they get wiggley and distracted.

I was recently given a copy of the David C. Cook series of family devotionals for free in order to leave a review. All opinions are my own.

Knowing Jesus family Devotionals

These devotionals provide an amazing outline on topics that are important for children to learn. I’m excited to go through these with my children now, and continue to use them as they grow. Repeating information helps to solidify their understanding of the three persons in our one God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

If you’d like to purchase these devotionals (they would make great gifts!), you can do so via the links below. You can also enter to win a copy via the form towards the end of the post.
