There is something special about finding new ways to dig into God’s Word. His words to us are more than just text on a page, it’s a living, breathing document. We can read a chapter when we first become saved that means something completely different to us a few years later. And something different yet again decades later.
As a busy momma, I’m always looking for unique and creative ways to keep scripture the center of my family’s routine. When I learned about the Courage for Life Bible app, I jumped at the chance to download it and try it out.
Courage For Life Bible App: A Review
I was given a free copy of She Is Strong And Courageous devotional in exchange for a review of the Courage for Life app. All opinions are my own.
The Courage for Life Bible app features the first female narrated audio Bible. There are twelve women who narrate, all of which have been blessed with beautiful voices. I was encouraged by the video below, that each of the women put so much research and passion into reading the Bible for this app, so that it could be a blessing to others.
Each book has an introduction that is also available to listen to and gives a great overview of the background of the book. The music behind the voices in the introductions is trendy and not old fashioned. It’s definitely an audio Bible for today’s age!
My honest thoughts on the app
The way the app itself is designed makes the app looks like it has more features than it really does. Many selections made within the app take you to the company’s website, so make sure you have wifi or data connectivity if, for example, you want to read the Courage for Life devotionals or access their Bible Studies.
The Courage for Life team is also working to raise funds to complete the Old Testament, so the app currently only offer the New Testament. The layout is simple and doesn’t have many features, which may be a positive or a negative, depending on your purpose for the app. If you’re looking to just hit play and listen, this a great app for you. If you want to take notes and do cross referencing, you’ll need a supplemental resource.
The app is free to download, so I encourage you to give it a try! If you’re looking for a unique way to listen to the Bible, this is a great app to explore.
