10 Ways Moms Can Give Glory To God Every Day

We have a lot of responsibilities as mommas. But first and foremost, we’re created to give glory to God every day. What does that actually mean and how in the world can we do it with our long to-do list and schedule that makes our heads spin?

Let’s look to the Bible to learn 10 ways we can give glory to God every day – even during the tough, busy ones!

What does that actually mean to glorify God and how can we do it without adding stress or another to-do to our long list? Here are 10 Ways To Give God Glory Ever Day. #momlife Click To Tweet

10 Ways Moms Can Give Glory To God Every Day

1. Look around and notice God’s glory in his creation throughout your day. When you are driving your kids to practice or you’re headed to work, take time to enjoy the trees, the birds, the flowers, the grass. Admiring and praising God for his creation is an easy way you can give glory to God every day.

Praise be to his glorious name forever;

may the whole earth be filled with his glory.

Amen and Amen.

Psalm 72:19

2. Sing praises to God! While you’re driving, while scrubbing the floor, while doing laundry  – it doesn’t matter what you are doing. Sing from the heart or turn on some music throughout the day.

Sing to the Lord a new song;

   sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Sing to the Lord, praise his name;

   proclaim his salvation day after day.

Declare his glory among the nations,

   his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

Psalm 96: 1-3

3. Give glory to God every day by following the greatest commands God has given us: Love God and love others. How can you genuinely love God and love others throughout your day? Spend time with God by reading the Bible, praying, and worshipping him. Doing that first will make it easier to love others throughout your day. Do something kind to a coworker, send your husband a special text or note with his lunch, and play your kids’ favorite game with them (even if you don’t want to).

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:34- 40:2

4. Find strength and beauty in God’s sanctuary. When life’s battles come – with your children, at work, with your spouse, with family members, with health, with your struggle with sin –  find your sanctuary in God alone and nowhere else. You’ll give glory to God every day if you seek him: his strength, his beauty, his sanctuary.

For the Lord is great and is highly praised;

he is feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the peoples are idols,

but the Lord made the heavens.

Splendor and majesty are before him;

strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Psalm 96:4-6

5. Practice gratitude. Regularly pray and thank God for what you have (your salvation, food for you and your family, a warm and safe home, wonderful family, stable job for you or your husband, etc.)

I will give you thanks with all my heart;

I will sing your praise before the heavenly beings.

I will bow down toward your holy temple

and give thanks to your name

for your constant love and truth.

You have exalted your name

and your promise above everything else.

Psalm 138:1-2

6. Confess Jesus’ name. Say the name of Jesus every single day. Don’t let a day go by where you don’t tell your children about him or talk about him. Say his name when you pray. Tell others about him. Say his name while you are mopping or scrubbing toilets.

Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name. 1Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

Hebrews 13:15-16 CSB

7. Look to the Bible for answers to everything: to your problems, for how to be a good mom, and how to give glory to God every day. After all, it’s the best parenting book ever written!

Need a place to start? Hebrews 13 is a comprehensive chapter on how to give glory to God.

8. Pray that you will bear the fruit of the Spirit.

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:8

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

This one is not easy…but it’s clear that the Bible calls us to bear fruit to give glory to God every day. Praying for the fruit of the Spirit to be abundant in our lives, and asking for others to pray for us too, is the best weapon we have against our own selfishness, impatience, and anger.

9. Show kindness to everyone. Showing love to those you come in contact with is not always easy. Someone rude to you at the grocery store? Instead of returning their rudeness, show God’s love with a smile and patience. Someone cut you off in traffic? Don’t let road rage consume you. Pray for them.

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

1 Peter 2:12

10. Don’t just go through the motions of motherhood. No matter what hat you are wearing: chef, chauffeur, nurse, storyteller, counselor, Jesus Lovin’ Mom Boss, wife, friend, sister, daughter, helper: do it with the intention and purpose as a daughter of King Jesus.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31
